Ever-evolving data technology – our latest project updates

Adapting Cambridgeshire’s early years assessment platform to meet EYFS changes

In Cambridgeshire, our early years assessment solution shares data to support the development of pre-school children.

Commissioned by Cambridgeshire County Council, the digital online data system enables Early Years providers to record and share assessments for the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) and Every Child a Talker (ECaT).

Known as CASEY (Cambridgeshire’s assessment system for Early Years) the system facilitates the secure, real-time sharing of information between providers and the authority.

In keeping with all of our client solutions, CASEY is continually growing and developing and is currently being updated to meet the EYFS changes - designed to improve outcomes in early language and literacy - that take effect in September 2021.

New police data feed for North Yorkshire’s single view solution

Up-and-running for almost two years, Sentinel’s powerful Single View solution helps North Yorkshire’s Children’s and Young People’s Service (CYPS) meet its aim of delivering outstanding social care.

Providing holistic ‘golden’ records containing accurate and up-to-date information, our platform enhances the CYPS’s work as part of a Multi-Agency Support Teams (MAST) approach to safeguarding children and young people.

Already integrating data from multiple sources, including North Yorkshire Police, the system’s portal has now been extended to enable the police to access the data they are permitted to view. This supports a more joined-up approach as agencies strive to provide appropriate help as early as possible.

Supporting Families - Birmingham Children's Trust powers ahead

Sentinel's data platform enables Birmingham Children's Trust to identify and support thousands of families across the city and proved highly successful during Phases 1 and 2 of the Troubled Families programme.

As Phase 3 gets underway, it is set to perform even faster by migrating to Microsoft’s Azure Cloud platform, a move that will provide an enhanced experience for its users.

The Trust’s Data Hub integrates extremely large volumes of data - amounting to millions of separate records - from more than 80 sources.

Records come from core systems across the council, as well as external partners such as the Department of Work & Pensions (DWP) and the police.
