Helping Devon Identify 1000+ Pupils
How Sentinel helped Devon County Council identify 1000+ previously unrecognised pupils eligible for free school meals.
Devon County Council was determined that no child should miss out on Free School Meals (FSM). However, with thousands of records spread across multiple systems, identifying every eligible pupil was a complex task.
At Sentinel, we helped by matching council and DWP data to pinpoint every child entitled to FSM.
What we achieved:
1000+ Devon Pupils now receive FSM
Significant reduction in manual processing
Schools gained 1.5 million in additional Pupil Premium Funding
Ensuring no child goes hungry with an opt out option
Don’t take our work for it, Tyler Sluman of Devon County Council said:
“Without the use of Sentinel, we expected to have a completely manual process of matching data on Excel spreadsheets – which would have been incredibly time consuming and bound to have inaccuracies... Overall, Sentinel makes the process safer, quicker and future proofed.”
