Welcoming Abigail as Data Analyst Apprentice

We’re excited to welcome our new Data Analyst Apprentice, Abigail, who joined us last week! Read on to see how she’s settling in and getting on so far.

Why did you want to work for Sentinel?

"I developed an interest in data analytics during a clinical decision-making module at university. I saw how data-driven insights can guide procedures, inform policies and improve outcomes. Sentinel’s work, particularly within the public sector, reflects my motivation for becoming a data analyst. I want to help communities through the meaningful use of data."

How are you finding your first week?

"I’ve been enjoying it so far. I’m currently building foundational knowledge through the Microsoft Azure Fundamentals course. I have seen a glimpse of the kinds of projects I will be involved in in the coming weeks, and they all look very exciting. The team have also been very welcoming and supportive!"

What are you most looking forward to learning in your new position?

"I’m looking forward to developing my technical skills through hands-on project work. Collaborating with colleagues across a range of expertise will give me the opportunity to learn from their knowledge and experience. I’m particularly interested in learning how programming supports analytics, such as using code to process large datasets and automate analysis."
